Detect Ventilation Problems
Mould grows when the humidity level exceeds 60% (Arundel).
cupl started 5 years ago after a persistent cough in a poorly ventilated flat. Mould had to be cleaned from the walls every other week. There were no cheap, easy-to-use products for plotting humidity against time. This would have made the problem easier to control. It is not easy to see or feel the dampness of air.
With cuplTag you can easily check that humidity is between 40% and 60%: a healthy range for you or your tenants.
The majority of adverse health effects caused by relative humidity would be minimized by maintaining indoor levels between 40 and 60%
Indirect health effects of relative humidity in indoor environments. (Arundel, E. Sterling, Biggin, T. Sterling)
A report from the WHO found that:
…occupants of damp or mouldy buildings, both houses and public buildings, are at increased risk of respiratory symptoms, respiratory infections and exacerbation of asthma. Some evidence suggests increased risks of allergic rhinitis and asthma. Although few intervention studies were available, their results show that remediation of dampness can reduce adverse health outcomes.

Check the Fridge
A lot of fridges do not have built-in thermometers, so the first sign of failure is unsafe food. In the video below, you will see a cuplTag put in a fridge to check it is still in working order.
